#init6 team get the scoop on VIRL2

We got a question from a viewer about Cisco's VIRL2 product, when it is coming and how it compares with its predecessor feature-wise and in user experience.  So what do we do in that situation?  We put a call in to Cisco and they give us access to Joe Clarke, Distinguished Engineer, to walk us through the new product and give us a heads-up on release dates etc!

VIRL and its big brother Cisco Modeling Labs (CML) are now being brought into line with the next releases:
  • CML-E (Enterprise Edition) is released on 14th April 2020 and replaces the previous version of CML
  • CML-P (Personal Edition) is released on 12th May 2020 and replaces VIRL with similar limitations of node count in order to be used for personal lab scenarios, for training and demos.
Both products have been re-engineered from the ground up and use an HTML5 GUI style that will be familiar to users of Cisco DNA Centre.  They will also use Smart Licensing rather than the previously convoluted licensing associated with Open Flow that sat underneath the product.

Check out our video with Joe Clarke to get the full low down and a bit of a sneak peek!
